A surgical headlight system or surgical illuminator provides brilliant illumination for the physician or surgeon at the site of interest. These lamps employ high pressure, long life light sources that provide high intensity light that is nearly identical to the spectrum of sunlight. Optimum visibility is vital to the effective application of the fine motor skills that are the trade-mark of a skilled surgeon.
The system consists of a light source, a mobile stand, an 8’ – 12’ fibre and a headset. The system produces a warm colour temperature that closely matches overhead theatre lighting, minimizing eye fatigue and maximizing tissue colour.
