Thank you! Your donation will help buy much-needed medical equipment for Eagle Ridge Hospital to help us ensure that our hospital staff can continue delivering the highest quality of health care to all of our patients.
We will acknowledge your gift with heartfelt thanks and mail you a tax receipt within a few days. Only charities registered with the Canada Revenue Agency may issue an official receipt for income tax purposes.
Under Canada Revenue Agency rules, some contributions do not qualify for an income tax receipt: personal services; sponsorships; gifts where benefits were received (items bought at auctions, raffle tickets, etc.); and the price of admission to concerts, dinners and similar fundraising functions that represent value for money.
Can I make a gift in memory of a loved one or friend?
Yes! Just send us a cheque or phone us, along with the name of the deceased, your relationship to the deceased and the name and address of the next of kin. We will send an acknowledgment to you, with heartfelt appreciation, and a tax receipt. We will advise the next of kin that you have made a memorial gift, without revealing the amount.
You can also print the Foundation’s contact information in the obituary as well as at the Funeral Home, stating "A gift in memory has been requested. Please support the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation" in lieu of flowers. Online donations can be made www.erhf.ca/how-to-give
I would like to honour my nurse and doctor for their excellent care
Sure! When you send your gift, include the name, department and reason for honouring that person. We will send an acknowledgement to your special person telling them of your donation without revealing the amount. You will also receive an acknowledgement, with and an official receipt for tax purposes.
Can I designate my gift to a particular purpose?
Of Course! You can direct your gift to a specific piece of equipment on our current Capital Equipment Priority List, or hospital department or to Eagle Ridge Manor
Making a monthly donation is more convenient for me - how do I set this up?
Our Monthly Giving Program is online using the online donation form. Just fill out the "Contribute Monthly" section or call us to make arrangements, at 604-469-3128. You can set up your monthly donation using VISA, Mastercard or pre-authorized payment from your bank account. Your pre-authorized monthly payment will be processed on the 1st or the 15th of the month. Tell us which date works best for you, and we will be more than happy to accommodate you! You can change the amount or timing of my monthly donation anytime. Just let us know what changes you wish to make and we will take care of the rest. We will send a tax receipt at the end of the year for the total amount of your monthly gifts.
Can I leave a gift to Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation in my will?
An estate gift is a wonderful way to support the hospital. You can leave a specific gift, such a designated amount of money. You also have the option of leaving a residual gift that is a percentage of the amount left over after your debts have been paid and your specified gifts have been made.

There are several different ways to make gifts in the future, including some types of life insurance, gifts of retirement fund accumulations – (RRSP and RRIF funds), gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and gifts of residual interest. Remember to consult your financial advisor to make sure a future gift is right for you.
Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation (ERHF) is a charity qualified to help you earn a capital gains tax break. There are tax advantages to gifts of corporate stock. If you sell stock in a publicly traded Canadian corporation, on which you have earned a capital gain, the gain is subject to income tax. However, the 2006 federal budget makes provision for you to avoid 100% of the capital gain tax that would be payable if you sold the shares, by donating them to ERHF before you sell.
The Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation is a non-granting fundraising organization. All gifts donated to the foundation support the hospital’s priority needs.
Does the foundation need volunteers?
Yes! With the many activities we have year-round, a helping hand is always appreciated. Volunteers devote their time and expertise to support foundation activities in a variety of ways in the Foundation Office and at our event. Volunteers help to keep our operating costs down and our spirits high, so please, join us! To become a volunteer, please call 604-469-3128. What kinds of positions are available for volunteers?" There are so many ways you can be a part of the ERHF team. Volunteer your time with office support, participate on an advisory committee or, volunteer at one, or all of our signature events such as; Wheel to Heal, Charity Golf Classic and the Evening of Caring.
