The Curties “Have a Heart”

The ERHF Team would like to send a special thank you to Margaret (Tomie) Curties and Ronald Wallace Curties for their unwavering dedication to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation.

This year, as the Have a Heart Tea was happening on the bottom floor of the hospital, husband and wife, Tomie and Ron, lay in a shared room just two floors up, unable to attend.

"We’ve gone to the tea for as long as we can remember," said Tomie, shaking her head. "We were so sad to miss it."

Despite the medical conditions which did not allow them to attend the tea, they made a generous donation this year, as they do every year.  Both Tomie and Ron expressed their gratitude to the staff of ERH for their big smiles, gentle care and clean hospital room. Tomie has been in hospital since January and can’t thank ERH enough.

"Everyone here is wonderful," she said. "I can’t think of a better place to be cared for."

Married now for 56 years, the couple were gifted a couple of door signs by some neices and a few of the ERH nurses.

Here is a photo of the happy couple in their room!

The population being served by ERH can be very proud of their pro-active hospital, which is focused on making itself better prepared to help the patients of tomorrow. To show appreciation, the public needs to continue to support the hospital's needs to help it become the most modern day, well established, local medical centre it can be.
