ERH’s Dr. Ken Wong wins $10,000!

It’s not every day that a Foundation gets to give away a $10,000 cheque! But one sunny afternoon in July, The ERHF Team hurried down to Radiology to present Dr. Ken Wong with his big prize.
Dr. Wong, who works in Radiology at Eagle Ridge Hospital was bombarded with singing, baloons and a big oversized cheque in congratuations of his win. Just a few weeks back, he participated in the Great Canadian Golf Ball Drop at the hospital’s Charity Golf Classic Tourament which happens the last Thursday of every May.
Improptu, Dr. Wong bought the ticket at the event (3 tries for $25) and went about golfing for the day. Before the dinner portion of the evening began, he ducked out and rushed home to make it in time to celebrate his 15-year anniversary with is wife.
Moments after he raced out, his name was called as the big winner! But the ERHF team called and told him the good news and, as you can see in the photo above, handed over the big cheque on July 19th.
The best moment of all? As soon as Dr. Wong had the cheque in hand, he offered to give back 10% of his winnings to the Foundation as a donation! A $1,000 donation - wow! What a gesture.
